Description
Driving from cross country with her three-legged dog, a stranger's ashes, and a waitress named Blossom isn't exactly something Alissa Wells had planned. It all starts when Alissa impulsively bids on an abandoned storage unit, soon becoming the proud new owner of Roger Hart's remains. Two weeks later, she jumps in her car and heads west; will returning the ashes of a dead man be the first step to her new life? Then Blossom, recent high school graduate, hitches a ride to Texas, and Alissa has to get used to letting someone else take the wheel. Posting about their road trip on Facebook, complete with photos of Roger at every stop, Blossom opens Alissa's eyes to the road in front of her.
Reviews
"A a lovely novel about finding oneself with a little help from your friends...a heartfelt and enjoyable read." - RT Book Reviews
"Veteran narrator Campbell's expert narration matches Al's unsure, tentative thoughts and dialogue. She voices Blossom as sweet, funny, and at times wiser and more decisive than her older friend. Campbell easily shifts among regional accents from North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Her pacing is just right for this tale of Al's journey of self-discovery, which ends in positive new directions for her and other characters." - Booklist
