The Cuba of Raul Castro is tense in the middle of the recession: those at the margins are threatening to rise up. But in Old Havana, the officers of the National Revolutionary Police (the famous PNR) are too overburdened by their own troubles to intervene. Three lieutenants-the veteran Puyol, the opportunist Ana Rosa, and the agent Eddy-are responsible for the investigations of an alleged suicide, a serial rapist, and the dead body of a young black man, and they are racing against the clock. Each one of them uses different methods, but they all believe the same thing: "Being a good policeman requires getting your hands dirty."
