The Dalai Lama XIV

The Dalai Lama XIV is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. The fourteenth Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, has spent his life protecting Tibet, its citizens, and its culture by seeking nonviolent liberation from China. In an effort to foster dialogue concerning creating a better world, he has traveled to more than sixty countries to meet with political, religious, and scientific leaders. In recognition of his tireless work, he was awarded the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize.
