Melanie Joy, Ph.D

Melanie Joy, PhD, is a Harvard-educated psychologist, international speaker, and organizational and relationship coach. She was a lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston for eleven years, where she taught courses on privilege and oppression, feminist psychology, and animal rights. She has given talks and trainings on six continents and in over forty-five countries, and her work has been featured in major media outlets around the world. She is the eighth recipient of the Ahimsa Award—previously given to the Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela—for her work on global nonviolence. She is also the author of three other books.
